Vessel Security Systems

M&I Electric offers a wide range of solutions for vessel security, keeping unauthorized individuals from coming aboard as well as granting access to specific areas according to crew positions and roles. Recognizing that security threats can originate from both internal and external sources, our design teams analyze the entirety of the vessel’s operation and environment, applying our knowledge and experience to ensure that the system design addresses all potential vulnerabilities. We offer scalable solutions appropriate for vessels of every size, function, level of operational complexity, and type of security needs.  Whether you need simple access control and intrusion detection, CCTV monitoring, cellular phone-based systems or complex, enterprise grade networked security systems, M&I has the ability to deliver a solution that fits.

Operators such as the US Navy, US Coast Guard, and New York Department of Transportation rely upon individualized solutions from M&I to protect their personnel, property, and mission.  Typical of our capabilities is the system provided to the US Navy for its T-AGM vessel, shown in the images at the top of this page and below. The T-AGM-25 features multiple automation systems ranging from those that warn personnel not to go outside when the radar systems are switched on, to security systems that monitor sensitive areas and meet DCID 6/9: Physical Security Standards for Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities requirements as defined by the Director of Central Intelligence. The system was designed to be simple, maintainable, and easy to operate.
